Matchbook Creative was recently selected through the Advertising Educational Foundation (AEF) to take an active role in the effort to inform the next generation of advertising and marketing professionals. As a part of the AEF’s many initiatives, the organization connects industry professionals with students in order for them to provide real-world insight and impart career knowledge connected to the advertising field.
Our Vice President, Maris Schiess, and Creative Director, Michael Stark, visited Indiana University Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business to share effective branding methods with Honors Program students. The content they presented encouraged students to think critically and work harder to identify the ‘why’ behind branding decisions, as well as explained how to incorporate effective branding across multiple organizational decisions, platforms and outlets.
During the session, students explored branding on a more personal level through an individual exercise that evaluated the manner in which they communicate their own personal brand. Maris and Michael also shared their industry experiences and career paths, and offered advice to aspiring business and marketing professionals.
The Advertising Educational Foundation takes it as its mission to provide educational content to enrich the understanding of advertising and its role in culture, society and the economy. It was an honor to be involved in a program that promotes our industry, and an honor to have the opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with students.
