Daniel Herndon.

With a diverse background including owning and operating a national branding agency, opening a cafe, and playing in a professional touring rock band, Matchbook's Chief Operating Officer Daniel Herndon has a breadth of experience as an entrepreneur and business leader. His work with clients spans across the country, consulting on brand strategy, strategic communications and marketing.

Before starting a creative agency, he launched a fledgling record label, and later through a natural progression, began pursuing brands for endorsement opportunities to support the label's artists. This effort lead to the start of his marketing and brand design shop called Redwall Live, which soon became MilesHerndon through a merger with a competitive agency and eventual partner buyout. Matchbook acquired MilesHerndon in 2020.

Daniel was recognized as one of the Forty Under 40 by the Indianapolis Business Journal in 2011, and has co-authored Facebook All In One for Dummies on Wiley Publishing in 2012. He authors a newsletter and opinion blog at danielkherndon.com where he writes opinion articles and sends a weekly comedic recap of the week's news (you should sign up). You'll also find him expressing his opinion on client work as he leads our team, and client strategy.

Daniel enjoys visiting trendy restaurants with his wife Carrie and pretends to be gluten free. In his spare time he studies philosophy, charcuterie, and other cured meats. He’s a devout bourbon enthusiast but religiously abstains from soda.
